Feedmark’s Science and Nutrition Department

Have you spoken to Feedmark’s Science and Nutrition Department before? We have a fantastic team of Nutritionists who have a great wealth of knowledge and experience to help you optimise your horse’s health, performance and wellbeing…

Dr Stephanie Wood BSc (Hons) RNutr R.Anim.Tech is Director of Science and Nutrition at Feedmark. She is supported by two Senior Nutritionists, Abigail Malone BSc and Ellie Parker BSc (Hons).

Dr Stephanie is one of few scientists with a PhD in Equine Nutrition and a lifetime of experience working in the field of equine care and wellbeing. Her experience is wide and varied, having held positions within government and academia whilst continuing now to oversee Feedmark’s Science and Nutrition Department. She is a Senior Lecturer at Harper Adams University, a Registered Nutritionist and a Registered Animal Technologist. Feedmark is very proud to have started working with Dr Stephanie almost a decade ago.

Abigail Malone BSc has worked with horses from a young age as a rider, groom and stud hand in the UK, Spain and Australia. This involved a range of horses and disciplines, but her passion lies with eventing. She studied International Equine and Agricultural Business Management at the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester where her enthusiasm for animal nutrition developed. Abbie likes to spend her spare time with her own young horse who she hopes to bring on to event.

Ellie Parker BSc (Hons) has grown up with horses throughout her life, giving her a wide range of equine understanding and knowledge. Working as a freelance groom throughout her university studies, as well as working with an equine charity, offered her vital hands-on experience within the industry. Ellie studied Equine Science and Management at Oxford Brookes University and gained a BSc (Hons) qualification. Ellie has a keen interest in scientific research and likes to keep up to date with recent advancements in the field of equine nutrition and is currently furthering her studies by undertaking a master's degree at Writtle University.
