Although I have only used Sand-Free a couple of times, I have started carrying out a dung test in the months in between as detailed in the Feedmark 'Understanding Sand Colic' article and the amount of sand remaining is lower than a 1/2 teaspoon. I will continue to use Sand-Free as I have been using Feedmark supplements for over 20 years now and they really do work!!

I had tried dozens of supplements and prescriptive medications for faecal water syndrome in my 29 year old TB. Nothing worked and his age meant I was adamant I didn’t want him scoped. I contacted FEEDMARK and they recommended sand free. It wasn’t in my radar but when it was explained what the product does (absorbs extra water in the gut) I knew it was worth a try! Finally, a company whose only focus is on animal health and knows what they’re selling! Thank you from me and from Finnegan!!

I had been really concerned about what was causing the faecal water problem with my TG cob. I kept thinking it was the richness of the hay, it the new grass, but then I remembered reading about a problem with sandy ground some years ago.
Thankfully I did, because that led me to Feedmark Sand Free. Just two weeks ago, I was having to wash my pony's hind legs every day and was despairing. Very soon after starting on Sand Free, my pony improved and for the last two days he's had lovely clean hind legs. Fabulous!

Nice and fine, so easy to hide in the feed of a suspicious horse! Fed as a precaution due to restricted grazing on dry clay ground, so dusty and bitty. Fair price to pay to keep mind at ease from sand colic

With the very hot weather the grass is now very short. My horse had sand colic some years ago and a regular course of psyllium husks helps eradicate any sand he may have eaten.

Psylium husks are very dusty and despite lots of chaff they tend to be left at the bottom of the bucket. Poor for horses with breathing issues. To be supplied in a different form would be beneficial.

Informations nutritionnelles

Les cosses de psyllium sont utilisées traditionnellement chez les humains et constituent une option de gestion reconnue pour les chevaux souffrant de charges de sable. En tant que source de fibres solubles, les cosses de psyllium forment une substance semblable à un gel lorsqu'elles sont exposées à l'eau. Les propriétés d'absorption d'eau du psyllium signifient qu'il agit comme une éponge hydroscopique, lui permettant de ramasser et de faciliter l'élimination des matières étrangères indésirables (telles que le sable et les fourrages grossiers non digestibles) des plis et des courbures du tube digestif.

Protéines brutes 3,1 %, pétroles bruts et amp; matières grasses 0,8 %, Cellulose brute 4,8 %, Cendres brutes 2,6 %, Sodium 0,07 %

1 mesurette (150 ml) d'enveloppes de psyllium pèse environ 50 g

La quantité quotidienne correspond au taux d’alimentation d’entretien recommandé. Ce niveau d'alimentation en coques de psyllium agit comme un supplément préventif.

Nourrir pendant 5 jours consécutifs, tous les 2 mois

Suivez les directives d'alimentation recommandées, en vous assurant que le produit n'entre pas en contact avec des liquides. Dans la mesure du possible, superposez entre les aliments secs. L’accès à de l’eau propre et fraîche doit être disponible à tout moment. Peut être nourri pendant des périodes plus longues ou à des taux plus élevés en conjonction avec les conseils d'un vétérinaire.

Conservation : Conserver dans un contenant hermétique à l'abri de la lumière directe du soleil

Les compléments alimentaires doivent être administrés en fonction du poids corporel, en les répartissant entre les aliments (le cas échéant).

Les cosses de psyllium constituent un aliment complémentaire pour les équidés. Feedmark n'utilise rien dans la formulation de ce produit qui contrevienne aux règles de la concurrence.
